Daily log in Bali 07.24.2011 (Trip to Ubud)

 Let's copy-paste once more

Log Date: 07.24.2011
Sunday, sleep in, till noon, had breakfast, and went for a drive up north to Ubud with my aunt. Went through the The Ngurah Rai Bypass heading to Sanur, turn to Ida Bagus Mantra Road, heading to Sukawati, got a little bit lost, but finally found our way to Ubud, pass through Monkey Forest Street, cross an intersection at Ubud Market, and went Straight To Warung Babi Guling Bu Oka, the famous culinary in Ubud. The food taste great, rich in flavor and complemented with hot chili.
We went for a walk around Ubud market for a while, also watching some Ngaben preparation at the nearest temple. I took some pictures along the way, and we also went to look about some bungalows in the area. After went to some shop, and doing some window shopping, we went to see the back of Bu Oka restaurant. At the bottom, there are some pig sties. It’s really ironic seeing the pigs alive, after eating them barely an hour before. The pigs look restless. Finished with that, we went up to see the kitchen, hoping to see how they make the “babi guling”, but it was in the afternoon, so there’s no activity there. The staff said that they began cooking at 8 o’clock in the morning, maybe next time then.
We drove around to find another famous eating spot in the Ubud area, this time its Naughty Nuri’s Warung with its barbeque pork spare ribs. After some Bali coffee, me and my aunt share a portion of it, along with a pork sausage and a glass of beer. Wow now I’m full. We drove back south on sunset, passing through Sanur, and turn to Danau Tamblingan street, and got some tasty gelato ice cream in Massimo. And then went straight home.
Right after that, I went to an appointment with a friend of mine at McDonald’s Jimbaran. We went to his place to scan my photos, at Uluwatu II Street. While there, a couple of friends came along and we had a chat about this and that. After a long chat, and finished up with my scans, I went back home. A nice Sunday it is.
