Bali Log Date: 17.06.2012 - Lightning Crashes and a Roller Coaster Ride on a Sunday

Sunday Morning,
The First thing I saw was a friend meditating. Half asleep, I Sort of imagined that I saw it on the web or television. the meditating friend, with a pin on the top right corner, noting "Morning Meditation". That kind of crack me up a bit, and then I went back to sleep before I even manage a chuckle *fade to black*

I woke up a few hours later, and receive a sad and shocking news. a colleague in my office had an accident last night. He was riding his motorcycle and got hit by a car, who then ran away. My colleague didn't survive the crash. And he was just barely living his life. This is a sad sunday indeed.

Moving on, I spent my afternoon with some friends from the capitol, coming to the island for a music event. we had a late lunch and coffee and tea, and talks about random stuffs. just sharing news and thoughts, and "mind enrichment" (this is what I always thought on having conversations). As the sun rolls toward the horizon, we part ways.

I then went to the morgue, my colleague was lying in the coffin, dressed up and looks really peaceful. I went to give my condolences to the family, and made a cross sign to honor him and pray for him. My mind wandered to how he was, and how he was not anymore. I got the hear the story from his relative, about how he always cared about his family, and never has been a nuisance. He was a good person. I also got the story about how the accident happened. He was hit by a car, thrown from his bike, and hit a parked car. This is unfortunate. I don't do sorrowness, and I suck at soothing sad people, so I just tried to induce acceptance instead.

I went back to meet my friend before she went back to Jakarta, we had dinner, we share some stuffs, giving heads up and encouragement on each others, sarcasm on other related subject :). And then, by a phone call, I was transferred to a bookstore. Unlike yesterday, today I knew what i'm looking for. Well, a few of it :p. I met the first one, and search for the others. Black cardboard paper (i might have to look this up again for the right terms), double-sided tape, a board cutter, and an aluminium ruler.

This is when I stopped writing, because now I'm thinking what should I write next.
I went to sit and chat with a friend of mine, about how my mind won't stop pestering me, and playing games on me. I ordered a chocolate milkshake, and a wrong type of finger food. Not a really good choice for a night snack, choco cheese fried banana *note to self* (the banana isn't ripe, taste sandy). And moving on, this same friend is now telling me that I have to write everything down on this log, which i might or might not do :p.

It's getting late, so we walked back to our vehicles, i reffed my bike engine and went home, stopping to find a lightbulb for my room, the last one went into a 'disco state', gets dimmer and kept blinking. Found the bulb, installed it, and now my room has warm yellow light. Yeay...

just one more thing to do. Sort them photos.
So, I'm off...

Train of Thoughts – 2011, August 31 – Cycling Day

(I was cycling when this occurs)
I’m not feeling poetic today.
So let’s just empty my mind.
Friends:
You can never get enough of them, but as my good friend said, “There are 3 kinds of people, those who come to your life for a reason, those who come for a season, and those who come for a life time.”
I always thought that you’ll never know when you will need someone, therefore i tried keeping as many contacts with all my friends, even my so-called friends.
Although, I think there are 2 kinds of people:
- People who can cope with me.
- The rest.
But that is just simply my ego talking.
In real life, I always tried my best to cope with everybody lest it’s really unbearable. So that’s that.
Family:
a friend of mine says, “Bahaya adalah gak kenal sodara sendiri.” which translated as, “Danger is when you don’t know your own relatives.”
Somehow, it fits my situation right now. An uncle is coming to town, asking me to find a hotel. Well, I really don’t mind, but I do have other responsibility.
And also, being a relative, his request is kind of absurd. I reminded him about this and that, saying that I might not help much, but he seems very easygoing and lack of planning. Oh well, let’s see what tomorrow brings.

Daily Log in Bali 09.01.2011 - New Month and Picking Up Relatives

Log Date: 09.01.2011
First day of the month, woke up and goes to work. Not too much eventful things at work (not that I’d like to share), very sleepy. Drove back home at 5, took a shower, and had an afternoon nap. After that, I went to the hospital to accompany my aunt, she’s taking an x-ray picture for her knee, and we went to dinner after.

After dropping off my aunt back home, I went to the airport to pick up my uncle and family coming from Jakarta. He arrived at 11ish PM. We went to dinner at Nasi Pedas Bu Andika in Tuban. After that, I drove them to their hotel at Thamrin Road, Denpasar. After some chats, I went back home. Time for bed.

Daily Log in Bali 08.19.2011 - Event at Bali Galeria & Special price photo print

Log Date: 08.19.2011
Woke up early enough to mop the floor and had some breakfast. Drove to the office and had some coffee. Made an inventory list for a property. Go out for lunch and print some photos for tonight’s event, and found out I got some special price for it. Lucky me.
Went back to the office, got some advice from my aunt. Updated some listing in the web. And got into a chat about family with my aunt. She said I have to start thinking about how to focus on the job, and later on help my parents and brothers. She also said that I need to communicate more with them, being a carefree person I was. I need to start writing emails.
Time to go to Bali Galeria, got there just in time; I’m still the first one there. A little disappointed by everyone’s time keeping. A little later on, everyone gathers. We set the displays and photo albums and souvenirs and all. My friend came along; my aunt also came and saw what we are doing and how the event goes. A lot of people are interested about the Lomography cameras and pictures. The crowd was packed, many communities and bands perform there.

Here are some pictures:

When the event ends, we simply go our separate ways. That is unexpected. I stopped by at KFC, had some coffee, and after a while, went to Minimart to get some cigs and a beer.
Went home, little chat with my aunt, and off to bed. Good night…
