Her Morning Elegance, Art & Music Festival

Tonight, with the company of Oren Lavie song, Her Morning Elegance, I am trying to continue where I left off yesterday. Still telling the story from the recent past, connected to my random meeting with a girl, without touching each other life (or maybe it did, I just didn't notice it).

Two Thousand Twelve, February, Twenty Eighth, afternoon, Literature Faculty of Udayana University.
It has been a few weeks since I got my new motorcycle, I am no longer riding my bike everywhere around. There was a festival going on, being member of the Lomonesia Bali, we were invited to display our unique photography community. There was also some bands playing, food bazaar, and talkshow about health issues on autoimmune diseases (I think it's Lupus). I arrived late for the set up, but early for the event. After hanging around for awhile, people are starting to gather, the bands started playing.
Not to my surprise, but felt excited at the same time, we met again. She was coming with her friends, I said hi, she said "Hi Niki..." and giving me a nice smile. She didn't stay for long, got another thing to do with her friends. Only much later that I know, there could be something about us, but I didn't really follow it through for some reasons. It's either the unstable me, or the wall I saw around her. Close, friendly, yet not that open. Maybe this is just my excuse of being a screw up.
Anyway, the moment passed, and I stayed for the event, my brother came by later to watch some band playing, including L'alphalpha with my friend as the manager. we said goodbye after, going our separate ways, my brother and I.

Two thousand Twelve, October, Second, almost midnight, the mosquitoes are vicious out here.
Today we have not contacted each other, I managed to feel okay and just doing stuffs at work. Getting myself busy and my senses going. She is still on my mind, no doubt. For some reason last night I had a dream about her dad, we were starting out awkward, but went to a journey together and some crazy dream event, eventually he said, "You're not so bad after all." This is just my subconscious hoping things would be well. I know that much.
After hours, I met my brother, picked him up from college, and let him drive my motorcycle. He was kinda nervous, never really ride a bike before, but so far nothing happens, besides some honking and got side tracked couple of times. I dropped him home to my aunt's and went home. and that sums up my day.

Let's see what tomorrow brings, shall we?

Daily Log in Bali 08.06.2011

Log Date: 08.06.2011
Today is Saturday; I went to work with my aunt. Do some morning chores at home before, and got somethings to do at work. After that I went out with the driver to do some errand. I went out through the East Nakula Street, head left to Imam Bonjol Street, pass a traffic light, goes left on the next traffic light to Gunung Soputan Street, and then turn Right to Mahendradata Road. Goes straight from there to Buluh Indah Road, after going through a few crossroads (three, I think). Arrived at the meeting point with a Villa owner, got some document, and went back to the office.
At the office, send some emails, reply some other, take some calls, and finished up just before dusk. Now, it’s time for some leisure time. I went out from the office to Oberoi Street (Kayu Aya Street is the real name). from there I went to the Art CafĂ©, there is a photo exhibition by the pinhole camera community (Semut Ireng Photography). The name of the event was Cerita Dengan Kaleng. The photos were made by kids from Guang Village, Gianyar from Yayasan Anak Tangguh. They took it with pinhole cameras made out of cans. The pictures were good, and there are also dance performance by the kids, and music by some local bands.

I met my friend Anggara there, and then meet some more new friends, Bambang, Linda, Dwi, Abel, Isyam, Vivick, Zenith and I also met my Lomonesian friends there. We are planning to go for a photo hunt tomorrow to Negara. It is about 2-3 hour drive. So let’s rest now. I’ll tell all about it tomorrow. Good night.

Daily log in Bali 07.29.2011 - Indian Headdress and eels

Log Date: 07.29.2011
Great morning, I had bread for breakfast, went to the office, and had my morning Coffee at Warung Nasi Ibu Agung. Sent an email to a client, and just before lunchtime, two people came and ask their house to be listed in under our company. They march in just one after another. After I had lunch, I went to one of the house, located near Mahendradata Road, in Buana Raya. After taking pictures and completed the data for listing, I chat a bit with the owner. And then we put up a sign in front of the house, and also on the corner of the adjacent street. After that we went back to the office. Finishing up, and then got a little panicked when someone called in, and I didn’t know what to say because our database is not helping. And then when I tried to call the person back, I got the wrong number. Hmm … I’m really confused.
After work, I went to find an Indian shop, the ones that make headdress, necklace, bags and such. Talk to the owner, and promise to call or come again for further information.

Here are some pictures

After that, I had eel for dinner, and thinking that I’m not ready to go home yet, went to a coffee shop and used their wifi to browse on my laptop.
Battery all out (both my laptop and phone), I decided to go home. Found out that my aunt bought sashimi and ate it, after failed on making decent slices. Haha… Let’s be ready for tomorrow then, shall we. Ramadan is coming close (not that I’m participating).

Come and gather round this Sunday

“Kopi Keliling”, or you may call “Kopling” is a collaborative Art Project put together
by a bunch of artists from Indonesia that took coffee as the theme of the project.

Why coffee?

Coffee has been a part of Indonesian culture for ages. Written records show that the
first coffee to set foot in Indonesia (Batavia) was back in the year 1696 by the Dutch
colonial known as VOC (Vereninging Oogst-Indies Company). You may remember it
from the history lessons. Since then Indonesia has been exporting coffee to many
countries all over the world.

Indonesian eventually took the coffee drinking culture into their daily life. We just love a
cup of coffee while having a conversation with friends. It is one of the great qualities of
this concoction. From conversations we can exchange stories, thoughts, or even dreams.

Kopi Keliling?

We are invited by the artists to listen to their story, to feel their thoughts and see their dreams
through a journey of visuals in 5 different places within 5 months. Where in each different places
we will experience different stories.

As they say: “good things happen over coffee”, come join us, grab a cup of coffee and have a
great conversation. You’d never know, it might lead us to something extraordinary.

Kopi Keliling Project Volume 1

The first of many Kopi Keliling series to come. Featuring 10 talented illustrators fromJakarta.
They will tell their tale about coffee through their latest artwork. Accompanied with lovely tunes
from our local bands, together we will experience a fresh look of art and creativity. A celebration
of our local talent and heritage which is art and coffee.
