Daily log in Bali 07.16.2011

Log Date: 07.16.2011
Saturday, Kuningan Day. I’m working. Not that I’m celebrating. Got my first client phone call, in English. Still blabbers, and made mistakes on sending pictures for the client-to-be. All in a day’s work. Went to the Bali Galleria mall after, looking for shoes cabinet, haven’t decide on any, meet a client, chat a bit. Went to look for a present for a work colleague, didn’t find any either.
Eats at Goodies restaurant on doublesix street. Shared a spaghetti carbonara and pork BBQ Ribs with my aunt. It was delicious. Walk around the street, and went to buy a beer and sit on the beach. Chats with my aunt. Saw people lighting fire cracker. Went back, visit my friends at Seminyak Town house, planning to go swimming tomorrow, went back home.

Daily log in Bali 07.15.2011

Log Date: 07.15.2011
Today, I woke up late; it was raining in the morning. Went to the office, call some prospect listing, and went to Canggu with my aunt to meet a client interested in a villa at Batu Bolong street. The owner of the villa happens to be there, so the conversation goes between my aunt, the clients (a couple), and the owner. I didn’t say much, simply observing (or is it dumbfounded?). We went back to the office after that, but not before having lunch in Warung Banyuwangi at Petitenget Road.
I manage to find some prospect to follow up on Monday; I think I’m getting the hang of it (still only small parts of the job, but improving nevertheless). Hope for the best on Monday’s to do list. After hours, went to Seminyak Town House, where my friends from Jakarta is staying, chat a bit and went to find dinner. After going to Kuta only to find that the shop was closed, we made a detour to Seminyak Road, deciding to eat at Made’s Warung. My other friend text me about a gig near Seminyak road, but because of this and that, the gig was over when I arrived; even my friend went home already. Ah well, there’s always next time.
I went home, talk to my aunt, ate ubi/sweet potato? (apa ya bahasa inggrisnya), chat about my brothers, about stuffs, watch the television, and then went to bed. Hoahmm…

Daily log in Bali 07.14.2011

Log Date: 07.14.2011
Woke up late, didn’t hear my alarm went off. Drive thru a police vehicle raid on the way to fill up gas, didn’t get stopped by them, thank god. Started the day by pondering and wondering where I want to go today to get to know the road and find a listing, ends up browsing the net and newspaper for more property contact. Got my first English speaking call, stutter on it, but went through it with some minor mistakes.
Tried finding some other places to go to, after making an appointment to Sanur tomorrow morning. The appointment is suspended, maybe it’s because the Kuningan holiday. A Client called to look up the house in Denpasar, the one I went to last Sunday. So I dropped everything and went there with the driver and my aunt, after picking up the keys nearby. she did all the talking. The client looked interested. When to lunch, ate Siobak Singosari (pork insides), went back to the office. Tried another go to find some listing, didn’t get much. Finishing up with yesterday’s work.
After office, went to Bali Galleria to meet a friend. Walk around the mall, went to the bookstore, went to another bookstore, stop to buy a glass of coffee. My friend arrived with his girl, sits down, chats over coffee, talks about cameras, got up and went to the hardware store, stumbled into a friend from Jakarta with her husband and family. Looking for shoes cabinet, went to another store to look for it, prices are high, went to yet another store, price is good enough, tell my aunt about it. Went to a doughnut/coffee/yoghurt shop, buys doughnut and green tea, friend bought yoghurt, experimenting with flash photography, chats some more, went home.

Daily log in Bali 07.13.2011

Log Date: 07.13.2011
Today, my morning starts with cleaning dog poo. Went to the office, call some people to get data for my listing, browse some jpeg for land for sale, and got jitters again when start calling people. The problem was (I think) because I haven’t really grasped it. Then again, I was happy that my first listing went online on the website. I talk to my aunt about my problems and worries, and all was sorted out (well not really, but I’m going there). I’ve made some honest mistakes because my lack of confidence plus my lack of knowledge. Knowledge about the area, the subject, etc.
I even got Goosebumps, literally. Because I thought that I was making a very big mistake. Well, it was a mistake, but learning from it, nothing we can’t change by confirming and thinking it over. After the talk, I sort of ease myself up, really. And then I got back from the office.
I went to the Kuta area. Segare beach where the Holiday inn and Aston at, and then go thru the Discovery mall, and got to my friend’s place early (too early, considering I’m still using Jakartan timing for distance and traffic). My friend lives in JL. Gunung Payung no. 5 (the one in Kuta, that is, there’s also another street with the same name in Kerobokan area). We went to eat at Warung Italia at JL. Kunti (Not Kuntilanak, just in case you’re wondering). The food was okay, quite tasty. The price, average (although it’s higher than my meals before). We talk about this and that, how my friend whom work at Bvlgari Hotel and her boyfriend at De Legian Hotel. I talked about my so called work for the last few days. This time, networking is part of my life, because then I can tell my friends about my office and if their friends need to get any properties, I most likely would be able to help with it (I hope).
Eat, coffee, and chat, and then we go back home. I dropped my friends over their place and drove back home to my aunt’s. Let’s just hope for a better day tomorrow, shall we..

Oh, and no pictures today. sorry :)

Daily log in Bali 07.12.2011

Log Date: 07.12.2011
Had my first phone call encounter today. I stuttered, mind wandering and lack of info. After 2 or 3 calls, got my confidence and knowledge, still had to be much more efficient.
After lunch, we went out to some sites around Kerobokan area, Umalas to be exact, Umalas I, Umalas II, and back to Tegal Cupek to take some photos. Got some listing, and sealing some rent deal at Bumbak Dauh (not mine). Going around till before sunset, and then back to the office.

View in front of the office

Double Six Beach

After that, I can’t help not to go to the beach, so I drove to Double Six beach. Got some drinks, sat on the beach, and met some beach boys. Chat about this and that, and went around the Kuta area. Got lost, and later on decided to eat nasi pedas Bu Anik in front of Kuta market.

And then I went home.

something out of the ordinary

The thing is about moving out of town, you don't really know what to do with your spare time.. hahaha...

Well, it's not that I don't have any friends here or anything. But it just that I figure people have other things to do.
And beside, i'm capable and got used to on being alone. I think...

What I really need is, some new friends. Had some already, but I want more variety of people...
And the song just turn to U2 - Sometimes you can't make it on your own. The gods are playing with me hahaha...

So what else is there to tell... Oh right, I'm broke! Not that it's a problem, I had made an arrangement with my relative here, and I'm suppose to get some money from other sources also. I just don't know how soon.
Have to remind myself to talk to my relative soon.

But really, I can't complain. I'm currently living in the most visited tourist spot in Indonesia, both local and international tourist. I can go to the beach whenever I want (when I'm not working, that is), I can eat a variety of pork dish (woops, no offense my moslem friends), I get the best weather for photography (most of the time), the traffic is so-so, the air is cleaner, sands always gets in my shoes, and the coffee is great.

So, boredom only comes when i don't move and go about, the rest is (hopefully still) paradise...
I got some ideas coming on, regardless that I now work Mon-Sat, but its just a start, I will improve and cope with everything around, so that my time management and my earning (and spending) can be efficienty distributed well.

Godspeed....

I woke up late, slept late last night. Got ready in a jiffy, and went to the office. Learned to fill up property form details, look up the web, and study some map of Bali. Later on, my aunt made me the company email, and I sent my first email for a client.
Lunch was great, and my digestion finally went through. I stayed at the office till the afternoon, and then took my aunt’s car to get home. Later on, I went to Denpasar to meet up with Lita, Bayu, Mas Dudi, Popo at mas Dudi’s place. I went to Diponegoro Road, eat dinner, and then more people comes around, there’s Noni, Nina, Ipul, and Sepel?
After that, I delivered Lita back to mas Dudi’s place to take her bike and then went back home.

That’s it for today.

This is how I get there.

Daily log in Bali 07.10.2011

Log Date: 07.10.2011
Starts the day with a morning walk. Half past seven, looking around the neighborhood.
I got ready on half past nine, and started the day by driving to a land for sale, near Umalas road, near Kerobokan, on Tegal Cupek III street, Arjuna Alley, just behind Jay Villa. From there, me and my aunt went to Gunung Salak road, meet with mr. doddy in front of Teck Coco furniture shop, saw a 54 acre land, and saw another land nearby. Right after that, we meet up with Komang, a friend of my aunt, and saw another space of land for sale.
We went for lunch after, passing West Teuku Umar road/ Marlboro road where we saw another land for sale and then went to my aunt office at Nakula street no. 9, to input the data, pictures we took from the listing survey.
We went back to show those land for sale to a contractor named mr. Romzi. And after that, we went to Denpasar, Gadung Street, to look on mr. Romzi friend’s house for sale. And then we went to a land space also in Denpasar.
Finished with that, we went back to my aunt’s office to send some emails to mr. Romzi details about the lands. We went back home to Imam Bonjol Road, my aunt’s house in Taman Wisata.
We Went to Kuta Galeria later to buy me some flip-flops, and then ate Soto babat in Kuta.
Edit: After a few day, I remembered that my aunt's house was at Pesona Wisata, not Taman Wisata :p

time capsule

Did you know that you dont have to get into some sophisticated machine to replenish your long lost memory?

Well, I didn't mean you could remember every crisp detail of everything in the past, but just parts that matters maybe?

Writing is enough to engulf you in some sort of emotional and sentimental phase. The words seems to jump out and became visions of every little things, fragments of life that has passed thru you.

Reading greeting cards and papers with someone's handwriting saying things that matters the most at the time, even some 10 years ago of schedules.
It sure does the trick for me.

Maybe I'm just that too sentimental person, or is it unavoidable for us human being, to be drawn to some state after seeing things that has been keep for a long time ago. suddenly bringing out all the good and bad memories that we somehow forget, thru the flow of time.

Its not like we're living in the past, but then again, the past are what made us ourself today. So, I would like to remember some details of it, in every move I make, in order not to fall or leap into the same spot again.
