Let's Play - 01 June 2012

This is not a proper documentation of the event.
With random shots on people and movements,
I just tried to capture the colour and vibe of the opening of a Lomonesia Bali photo exhibition.

The blurred one was taken with bulb mode, shaky hands as always.
and while I was writing this, my mood is not to write. Again.

Just try to enjoy the photos of people you might not know, and bright colours you might or might not like.
as some of the photos are blurred, so is my head right now.
the swimming thoughts in my head colliding with each other, trying to poke my eye out from inside.

And as I keep blabbering here, you might just scroll down to see the photos below, or not.
Your choice.

Sometime this week, I have to process my finished film rolls, and maybe upload another sets of photos, and maybe at that time, I would be more in the mood to write some sensible stuffs.

Daily Log in Bali 08.19.2011 - Event at Bali Galeria & Special price photo print

Log Date: 08.19.2011
Woke up early enough to mop the floor and had some breakfast. Drove to the office and had some coffee. Made an inventory list for a property. Go out for lunch and print some photos for tonight’s event, and found out I got some special price for it. Lucky me.
Went back to the office, got some advice from my aunt. Updated some listing in the web. And got into a chat about family with my aunt. She said I have to start thinking about how to focus on the job, and later on help my parents and brothers. She also said that I need to communicate more with them, being a carefree person I was. I need to start writing emails.
Time to go to Bali Galeria, got there just in time; I’m still the first one there. A little disappointed by everyone’s time keeping. A little later on, everyone gathers. We set the displays and photo albums and souvenirs and all. My friend came along; my aunt also came and saw what we are doing and how the event goes. A lot of people are interested about the Lomography cameras and pictures. The crowd was packed, many communities and bands perform there.

Here are some pictures:

When the event ends, we simply go our separate ways. That is unexpected. I stopped by at KFC, had some coffee, and after a while, went to Minimart to get some cigs and a beer.
Went home, little chat with my aunt, and off to bed. Good night…

Daily Log in Bali 08.07.2011 - Bufallo Race (Makepung) and Fisherman boat

Log Date: 08.07.2011
Sunday, Woke up really early to get to my friend’s place, we were planning to go to Negara District for a photo hunt, and the event was Water Buffalo Racing or “Makepung”. Left the house at quarter to 6 AM, everyone gathers around 6:25 AM, and off we go.
The air is chilly; I drove the first hour with no difficulty. We stop around Tabanan or Jembrana to get some food and drinks for the road. Found people there, a couple was injured, fell from their motorbike. They were also planning to go to the event.  Not long after we go again, right in front of our eyes, we saw a man falling from his motorcycle because the road was being fixed, and filled with pebbles. We stop to help, and after making sure there are other people helping him, went again on our trip.
After two and a half hours, we arrived at the supposed to be place, but didn’t find anything in Deloberawah, asked some people and they said it is in Mertasari Village. Further away to the west. Got there, park the car, load some films, and ready to shoot some action. The bulls are already running on track, with the rider hitting them and yelling to go faster. Some of them are already bleeding from the constant hit. The race was intense, dust flying, some contestant got side-tracked. It was held around a rice field area, there are many people watching, and also lots of photographer trying to capture the moments. I brought my Sprocket Rocket Camera, and my Holga 135BC TLR (the film got stuck). I finished my roll with the race alone. I think I got overexcited. The Race lasted for quite some time, many laps was done. We didn’t catch the winner, and went to find lunch.
After lunch, we went to the local photo lab, and then we went to the pier where fisherman moors and sell fishes. Took some pictures there, got some warm welcome from the local fisherman, and even got a bargain to go off shore. We didn’t get to the sea, just took some pictures of the fisherman, the boat and then went back. The time was 2 PM.
The trip home proven to be not too eventful, but slower, with lots of truck on our way, and the road was small and winding, so we just have to wait for our chances to go pass the slow moving trucks. We stopped for gasoline, and then stopped again to take some pictures or multileveled rice field.

Going along the way, slower than the morning trip, and experiencing some traffic jam, we arrived at our start point at a quarter before 6 PM. Chat a bit with my friends, one by one getting home, and I also went home. My aunt cooked fish porridge. Yum yum… I feel beat. This should be enough for today.

Daily Log in Bali 08.06.2011

Log Date: 08.06.2011
Today is Saturday; I went to work with my aunt. Do some morning chores at home before, and got somethings to do at work. After that I went out with the driver to do some errand. I went out through the East Nakula Street, head left to Imam Bonjol Street, pass a traffic light, goes left on the next traffic light to Gunung Soputan Street, and then turn Right to Mahendradata Road. Goes straight from there to Buluh Indah Road, after going through a few crossroads (three, I think). Arrived at the meeting point with a Villa owner, got some document, and went back to the office.
At the office, send some emails, reply some other, take some calls, and finished up just before dusk. Now, it’s time for some leisure time. I went out from the office to Oberoi Street (Kayu Aya Street is the real name). from there I went to the Art CafĂ©, there is a photo exhibition by the pinhole camera community (Semut Ireng Photography). The name of the event was Cerita Dengan Kaleng. The photos were made by kids from Guang Village, Gianyar from Yayasan Anak Tangguh. They took it with pinhole cameras made out of cans. The pictures were good, and there are also dance performance by the kids, and music by some local bands.

I met my friend Anggara there, and then meet some more new friends, Bambang, Linda, Dwi, Abel, Isyam, Vivick, Zenith and I also met my Lomonesian friends there. We are planning to go for a photo hunt tomorrow to Negara. It is about 2-3 hour drive. So let’s rest now. I’ll tell all about it tomorrow. Good night.
